Psychedelic oil stains on the ground from clunker cars. After digital enhancement, they look like NASA Hubble Space Telescope images of outer space glowing gases known singularly as a nebula.
This Asphalt Nebula is the combination of a small puddle on the street with a thin film of sun splashed oil and the reflection of clouds in the sky.
About Samuel Sheats
I've been into science and nature since a kid and a photographer for over 50 years. While still primarily interested in aircraft and exotic cars, I've more recently gotten into birds and insects -- especially the wonderful world of bees, hummingbirds, and other pollinators. In all cases, I want to present these subjects in a way that moves those who normally wouldn't be interested to become motivated enough to explore them on their own.
